DIWALI- Is a 5 day Festival of Light

Diwali Day for 2017 is 19th October

Hindu, Jains and Sikhs festival when people express their happiness by lighting earthenware lamps called Diyas and decorate their homes inviting their nearest and dearest to partake of a feast.

Diwali poems for your celebration

May your festival of Diwali start bright
And continue the year full of light
May you always have food available to feast
And adorn yourself in new attire from head to feet

May your family prosper in great wealth
Whilst maintaining excellent health
May you have a wonderful Diwali time
and your diyas continue to shine

by Margmax 2011

We would like to wish you a wonderful Diwali
With many scrumptious thali's
We wish your rangoli to be colourful and bright
With many diyas's giving you a rainbow of light

Here it comes that exciting time
When we have five days of everything that shines
It's nice new clothes to wear
And good food and treats to share
Spending time with the ones we hold close
Yes it is DIWALI time as everyone knows

Wishing you a happy Diwali day
Where every thing you do just goes your way
The family are all happy united in love
Celebrating beneath your lighted diyas up above

by Margmax

The decorations are made
and the diyas's all prepared
The table will be layed
and all visitors will be fed

So this is our invitation to join us please
Our celebrations would not be the same without you
So please say you will come and do not tease
You know you like a party and it will be quite a do

Please read before using any of my verses:-

All of the verses within this website are my own creation and I am happy for any individual to use them on their greeting cards and gifts but would ask that you end the poem with my name and website.

BUT.....

If you are a website publisher or a commercial or charitable organisation I would ask that you contact me to discuss permission which may well be given in exchange for a link to my site and name credit.
It continues to amaze me how many times I find my poems on someone else's website or blog claimed as their own work or author unknown. This is why on this site every poem is written by me so if you find one of my poems somewhere else without my name please inform the user that they are stealing someone else's work - thankyou.
